Lani and Dayna told me about a documentary they watched two days ago about the Westboro Baptist Church. The church is absolutely despicable, but one thing that I think is kinda sweet coming out of them is the patriot guard riders. if i - one of the least jingoistic people out there - thinks a patriotic motorcycle group is cool, they're really cool.
the westoboro church first came to fame protesting at the funeral of matthew shepard - a young guy who was tortured and killed by men who later asserted the gay panic defense, something that is about as abhorrent as lesbian baiting back in the good ole don't ask don't tell days. Hate crime legislation was proposed nationally but only came into law in 2009, 11 years afterward. and wow, this turned into a kinda depressing aside, so back to the patriot guard riders:

investment claims swag is weird - have you ever thought about having about 40 coasters with 'investment claims' written on it?! soon to go to my sister's husband.
i got my gmat study books and am excited to geek out and re-learn basic math skills that have gone unused since that time after law school when i decided a career change was in the works and took a chem class in preparation to apply for nursing or med school.
craptastic news from my sister -- my dank socks didn't get delivered to her house in time to bring them to me :( i was so excited for really, really nice socks :(
