officemate is reading about what is the most horribly, horribly boring sex scandal story ever. it's honestly one of the stupidest things i've ever had to hear about, and it's interrupting my extensive research into every single airplane crash ever. at the same time, i do recognize that one newspaper accidentally mistyping a name or something casting a character from one show who is a prostitute as having the same name as a (quite minor) politician is really newsworthy, or so the woman clearly thinks, trying to get her name out there as much as possible by dramatizing something that is honestly really, really, really, really, really boring.
INSTEAD:
hey turkish newspapers, remember when you put crap like that on the front of your really important newspapers? lets look at a news roundup:
nytimes: sadly, not really coming through. republican debates, colons, german economy and regulating baby makin organs. syria, being single, censorship and first amendment, and google sound a bit more interesting. click on world and we have some sad news about the recent spate of war reporters being killed and syria.
bbc: iraq, somolia, afghanistan, somolia, burma, putin, santorum, and time being linked to heart attacks.
cnn: iraq, syria, section on journalists, shadow wars, australia political soap opera popularity contest (more interesting than the boringest sex scandal ever in turkey), syria, syria, santorum, north korea, afghanistan, and an inquest into the death of a baby dingo.
GRAND RAPIDS PRESS which as we all know is the publications to end all publications: road rage, obama online privacy rules, cornerstone college basketball, holland city manager, crash victim, the pistons, MSU sports, santorum. even this blessed newspaper with its idyllic image of santorum and hagiographies about republicans manages to have SOME sort of actual stories about national politics that have some basis in reality and are not just there to be (non-)DRAMADRAMADRAMA.
my hope is that the MOST BORING NON SEX SCANDAL falls out of the newspapers today. today. please.
