DAY ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY SIX

I've been wondering quite a bit lately why we no longer call bedrooms bedchambers.  To remedy this obvious failure of modern English language, the area where my bed is located will now be called my bedchamber.  Which brings me to the lady of the bedchamber, gentleman of the bedchamber, lord of the bedchamber and the Bedchamber Crisis, which was a 'crisis' involving replacing Whig ladies of the bedchamber with Tories. Scandal! I'd like to thank my hideously trashy novel WAKING UP WITH THE DUKE (good get stacey!) for reminding me that bedchamber is the only acceptable term for the living space containing a bed.
