All great lakes are not equally great. We all know that Erie sucks, the question is how much does it suck? Let's look at retention times:
Superior: 191 very cold years
Michigan <3: 99 not nearly as cold years Huron: 22 years Erie: 2.6(!) years Ontario: 6 years Lake Erie also freezes over. Lame. Oh yeah, and all the pollution and the dead zone that appeared in 1993 but may be a "natural" phenomena.
